i keep getting a final CQ of 89.77 on all of my predictions. I still don't know what i'm doing wrong. here are my steps

1. in tmpgenc select new project
2. Select avs script and load KVCDx3 template
3. in source range, i select default and exit that making sure it's not checked.
4. then i saved the project
5. i loaded the project into CQmatic and set the movie's time in minutes and the average bitrate.
6. i hit prediction x3 and the toggle button so it says prediction only
7. after all the prediction encoding, the bottom of the log always says Final CQ value is 89.77

am i doing something wrong??

You're probably using a very long path name.
What are your path settings

For my tpr
C:\Documents and Settings\Paul08898\My Documents\SpookyHouseProject.tpr

for tmpgenc
C:\Documents and Settings\Paul08898\My Documents\TMPGEnc\TMPGEnc

You didn't read closely, where it's clearly stated that you can't have long path names

Change your paths to something like: C:\Movies
That will correct your problem.

You don't need to do this if you always start with a new project in TMPGEnc

Also, load the Template BEFORE the avs script, or you'll overwrite your res settings (if different).
